Whether you’re a long-time opera buff or a total novice, we want to share our love of this art form with you.

Opera Untapped is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reimagining what classical music can be and who it’s for. We create approachable performances in unexpected locations.

Press Release: Opera Untapped Launches a Bold New Chapter in New England’s Opera Landscape

Artist-led company builds on 15-year legacy to create a new brand that expands how opera is made, shared, and experienced today.

Our History

A diverse group of people gathered in a cozy, industrial-style venue, attending a performance or presentation. The audience is seated at tables, some holding drinks and taking photos or videos with their phones. A balcony with more attendees is visible above, watching the event. The room is decorated with framed pictures and musical instruments.

Opera Untapped was established as a 501c3 non profit organization in 2025. We were previously known as Opera On Tap Boston, part of the international network of Opera On Tap chapters that provided unique singing opportunities for classical singers around the world.

In our constant mission to innovate, our work began to reach far beyond the confines of our previous mission. Opera Untapped was the natural next step for both our audiences and artists.

Our Artists

We are an artist-led organization made up of musicians based in New England. Each Opera Untapped performance features a unique combination of individuals that meet the needs of the music and space. We keep our rehearsal time limited — so every artist is quick on their feet and ready to collaborate on stage.
